In Belgium, Marc Dutrox, 51, kidnapped, raped, and murdered multiple young girls. His excuse for having done so was that he was under orders from a "crime ring" - essentially, a network for pedophiles - to do so.

In Chicago, Illinois, Brian Gilbert killed two boys, age 12 and 14, and stabbed a 13 year girl. He had been dating the mother of the children for a few weeks and claimed that the boys were not completing their chores and he was simply attempting to discipline them. The girl attempted to stop Gilbert and was stabbed in the neck. Gilbert then sexually assaulted the girl. Prior to this, Gilbert was already a registered sex offender.

In Phoenix, Arizona, 25-year-old Michael Harris has been charged with forcing 12 and 15 year old girls to prostitute themselves. The youngest girl alone was forced to sleep with over 250 men - and on one trip to San Diego, California, was forced to sleep with fifteen to twenty men per day.

John Rex of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, used the internet to convince two teenage boys to meet with him. He had made statements that he had planned to kidnap, rape, and then murder his victims; he successfully raped both boys. He has now pled guilty to a 12-count indictment.

In Maryland, a young girl was attacked by a stranger as she walked through a parking lot. He grabbed her from behind, forced her to the ground, shoved her into a car, and blindfolded her. He then drove her to a home where he sexually assaulted her and then drove her back to the mall. The man has not been caught.
