In Long Beach, California, Trinidad Marin, former husband of Latina pop star Jenni Rivera, has been sentenced to a minimum of 31 years in jail for molesting two young girls, one of whom was a relative. He was convicted of eight felony counts, including lewd acts with a child, continuous sexual abuse, and aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

In North Richland Hills, Texas, 46-year-old Melvin Hall Jr., a former major league baseball player, faces charges of sexually assaulting two girls in 1998 and 1999 when he was their basketball coach. He was arrested and charged with sexual assault of a child under 17 and aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14. The second charge could result in a possible life sentence due to the age of the alleged victim. Hall was also arrested due to an unrelated outstanding warrant on a theft charge. Police expect to find other victims due to Hall having been a basketball coach for girls and having organized a baseball camp in the area.

In Pocatello, Idaho, 32-year-old Amy Davis and her husband, 28-year-old Doug Davis, are facing 11 charges as a result of their arrest for lewd and lascivious acts on two girls under the age of 16. Amy has been charged with one count of lewd conduct with a child under 16, facing a possible sentence of life in prison, and four counts of lewd conduct. Doug has also been charged with one count of lewd conduct with a child under 16 and also faces a possible sentence of life in prison; he faces additional charges of one count of lewd conduct and four counts of sexual exploitation material. The four counts could result in a possible sentence of 20 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. Both had bail set at $250,000 and both were ordered to not have contact with either of the alleged victims or any contact with any child under the age of 18, though they are allowed supervised visitation and phone calls with their own children.

In Mobile County, Alabama, 27-year-old Michael Shawn Thompson was arrested by sheriff's deputies for attempting to entice two children to take drugs and engage in sexual misconduct. As a result, Thompson has been charged with two counts of enticing a child for immoral purposes. Mobile County Sheriff Sam Cochran outlined the claims of the children, stating that the children both stated that a neighbor offered them drugs, including marijuana or Loritabs (a type of painkiller), or money. In return, the neighbor wanted to engaged in sexual activity. The two children were ages 11 and 13. Enticing a child for immoral purposes is a class "C" felony and carries a penalty of one to ten years on each charge.

In Solano County, California, 40-year-old Chad Cleveland, a veteran Solano County correctional officer, was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a girl less than 16 years of age. Cleveland's bail was set at $250,000 due to possible charges ranging from lewd and lascivious acts with a minor to sexual penetration with a foreign object and sexual intercourse with a minor under age 16.
